Some chunky crossing in Choppies (306t) the main highlight today.
It was a mostly quiet day in Nairobi until a late cross in Safcom boosted volumes. The major action was local buying and foreign selling with the name closing unchanged at KES20.25. The other major action went through in EqBnk with the bank sliding marginally to KES29.75. In other news, talk is that EABL is on track to launch its’ second cider called Tusker cider (after Snapp).
Nothing overly inspiring to write home about from Port Louis. Activity was heavily centered in the likes of SBMH (unch, Rs0.70) and MCBG (unch, Rs223.00).
Another dull day in Nigeria as the market once again never got going. The index did creep higher but as always when volumes are low, please take this with a pinch of salt. The bulk of the action went through in the banks (+1.30%) with GTB (+1.92%, N23.90) and Zenith Bank (+2.25%, N14.55) leading the way. The consumers (+14bps) had a quiet day.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Local buyers continue to push the index higher while volumes remain low. Delta continues to tick higher and closed today at 62.75c.
