A cross in Choppies saved the market from complete embarrassment as 1.9m shares traded while the rest of the market was dead quiet.
A quiet end to what has been a generally quiet week in Nairobi. Well over half of today’s turnover came in KNCB (unch, KES27.00) which witnessed a number of decent crosses with foreign being on both sides of the equation. The rest of the market was quiet.
Some small action in MCBG the only name worh mentioning as 63k shares changed hands in the name on an otherwise dull day in Port Louis.
Another apathetic day in Lagos with nothing going on. Banks (+1.10%) rebounded after yesterday’s weakness although outside of GTB (+2.80%, N23.50) the sector was dead. Consumers ended the day slightly positive on thin volumes.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another decent day to end the week in Harare from both an acivity and performance point of view, thanks to some action in Innscor ($450k) and Econet ($267k).
