Another decent day in Gaborone with Engen ($254k) accounting for 40% of the market, Letshego ($186k) 30% of turnover and Barclays ($112k) with a solid 18% to end the day.
The NSE 20 continued its downward trend today as volumes increased by over 93%. Safaricom was the major name on the day accounting for almost 60% of turnover.
The upward trend continued in Mauritius with Rs82m changing hands geared towards MCBG contributing 67% of the total market turnover as the stock declined 0.2% trading at Rs260.00 the majority of which was foreign buying and selling as its banking peer SBM was unchanged trading at Rs7.50. CIEL lost 0.6% at Rs7.16 while IBL gained 1.2% at Rs45.05 and Sun Resorts unmoved at Rs49.00.
Another positive day in Nigeria with the Banks dominating the gains, as names like UBA were limit up on the day. We believe some of these buyers are index funds which got out of certain names that were removed from the MSCI Main Frontier Markets Index and Small Cap Index and are buying the names that are still in the Indices that are being tracked by the index fund managers. Zenith($5m) accounted for the highest turnover.

The industrial index declined 4.5bps as Nicoz Diamond traded a total of $6.5m at 2.1900c accounting for 93% of total market turnover. The only other name worth mentioning was Delta trading $221k @ 155.6900c.
