Prime dominated volumes in Gaborone today accounting for 91% of turnover.
It was a day dominated by more selling pressure in the Telecom giant, Safaricom which closed at 27.00 (-1.8%) and accounted for about 53% of turnover. Total foreign participation was up to 74% from 69%.
A bit of a mixed reaction with the Mauritius indices today seeing the Semdex declining slightly. Volumes were majorly driven by MCBG which saw an intra-day low of Rs255.00 closing +0.4% up at Rs257.00. While SBMH was driven by locals and closing lower (-0.3%, Rs7.42).
Another negative close in Nigeria as more selling pressure fell on the big Consumer and Industrial names NB (-0.47%) and Dangcem (-4.12%) respectively. Guaranty (+0.25%) recovered slightly from the previous day’s sell off to close at 40.00. NB dominated the action on the day accounting for 45% of turnover.

The mainstream index continues southwards, down 3.36 points. Turnover was skewed by a handful of securities including Econet (-1.41%) and Padenga (-3.73%).
