Market turnover on the Nairobi bourse declined by approximately 25% from yesterday’s close with foreigners assuming 89% of today’s buying and 88% of selling. KCB remained unchanged at KES42.75 while BATK followed suit at KES780.00 and Safcom was trading at KES26.25 dominated accounting for 81% of total market turnover.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.14%, USD 1.15m

MCBG (+0.4%, Rs271.00) recovered today after trading 36k shares dominated by foreign purchases. The most active counters on the day were MCBG, ENL and NMH.

Nigeria: ASI +0.27%, USD10.05m

An average day on the Lagos bourse and another day of massive crosses dominating today proceedings seeing the banking and consumers ending in the positive territory closing 0.11% and up 0.47% respectively. Dangcem (-0.22%, N230.00) about 25% of the market, Guaranty (+0.07%, N40.53), FBNH (+0.33%, N8.99), Nestle (+0.68%, N1,485.00) and UBA (+0.75, N10.30) were the major movers on the day with some semi decent activity,

Zimbabwe: Industrials -1.07%, USD 18.48m

A massive day in Harare, but this should however be taken with a pinch of salt with all the activity taking place in an unusual name Colcom which accounted for 98% of turnover.
