Market turnover on the Nairobi bourse declined by approximately 15% from yesterday’s session with foreigners assuming 70% of today’s buying and 57% of selling. Safcom (KES27.75) was one of only two tickers to break the $1m mark advancing 1.83%, while Eqiuty (-1.22%, KES40.50), EABL (-0.41%, KES243.00) and EABL (unch, KES14.95) performed decently on a tough day at the races.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.19%, USD 700k

Things slowed down in Port Louis as both the Semdex and the Sem-10closed in the red. MCB closed unch at Rs260.00 while SBMH closed 0.03% lower.

Nigeria: ASI +1.17%, USD 28.21m

Not a bad day at all with a the stock exchange being dominated by a number a huge crosses, seeing the banking and consumers ending in the positive territory closing 1.77% and 2.68% respectively. Zenith (+5.61%, N27.50) about 30% of the market, UBA (-1.20%, N10.92), GTB (-2.42%, N42.01), FBNH (+6.12%, N9.01) and Dang Sugar(+2.86, N20.50) were the major movers on the day with some decent activity,

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.34%, USD 3.37m

The market traded slightly higher today, as Econet and Delta led the proceedings accounting for 71% of turnover.
