The little volume the stock exchange experienced was divided mostly across a handful of names with Letshego ($96k) accounting for 74% of the market, Letlole ($10k) and BTCL ($12k) making up the numbers.
Market turnover on the Nairobi bourse declined by approximately 32% from last weeks close with foreigners assuming 81% of today’s buying and 66% of selling. Safcom (KES27.75) was the only ticker to break the $1m mark advancing 0.90% trading at KES28.00, while Eqiuty (-0.61%, KES40.75), Scan (-5.61%, KES18.50) and KCB (-0.59%, KES42.00) were below par on a tough day.
A decent day in Port Louis as Rs46m exchanged hands geared towards Grit and MCBG accounting for a combined 66% of total market turnover. MCBG declined 0.2% trading at Rs257.50 while Grit was unmoved at Rs1.35 and Lux Island Resorts followed suit at Rs62.25 while the rest of the market was quiet.
A massive day in Lagos today, as we saw a cross of 72m Dangcem shares exchanging hands, both sides were locals. The banking sector dipped on the back of losses in FCMB (-4.69%, N1.22), Fidelity (-4.64%, N2.26), and ETI NL (-3.95%, N17.26). Other notable trades of the day included Zenith $2.5m, and FBNH $1.2m.

A slight improvement on the ZSE seeing the industrial and the mining indexes advance on the back of Old Mutual (450.00c, $838k) accounting for almost 30% of the market, Seed Co (2.09c, $627k), Innscor (109.75c, $440k) and Riozim (120.00c, $323k) all with decent volumes.
