Centum continued to rally, after releasing good FY15 results, to close up 1.6% at KES65.50. Other movers included Safaricom (unch, KES16.05), EABL (unch, KES315) and KCB (unch, KES56.50) whilst the laggards included the likes of Britam (-3.6%, KES20.25), NMG (-2.8%, KES175) and B.O.C (-2.2%, KES134). Foreign participation continues to improve as they accounted for 73.60% of total sales.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.19%, USD 1.6m

MCB rallied to reach its YTD high of Rs216.50 (+0.7%) after the counter traded a total of 149.6k shares. SBM remains the most actively traded counter on the bourse after trading a total of 5.9m shares to close unchanged (yet again) at Rs0.93.

Nigeria: ASI -0.61%, USD 24.3m

Yet another day characterized by crosses in a few names with Zenith ($11.09m), GSK ($1.67m) and Access ($1.51m) dominating proceedings with the rest of the market very quiet as total turnover amounted to $24.3m. Banks closed the day lower with the sector falling -0.42% thanks to losses in FBNH (-4.76%) and ETI (-2.22%). Consumers (-1.18%) were also under pressure with Guinness (-5.30%), Dangote Flour (-4.91%) and NB (-1.32%) dragging the sector lower.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.03%, USD 192k

Turnover remains sluggish as most counters registered paltry trades. Econet was the best performing counter despite its soft close at 43c (-0.12%).
