Botswana: DCI -0.91%, USD 4m
Letshego accounted for the bulk of market activity as the counter traded a total of 8m shares to close at 320t. Other significant contributors included Turnstar, Choppies and BIHL.
Kenya: NSE 20 +0.24%, USD 4.9m
Equity Bank and EABL were the most actively traded names in the session as they accounted 58.5% of market activity. The counters closed flat at KES46 and KES308 after trading a total of 4.1m and 278k shares respectively. KCB remained at its all year low at KES55.50 as 228k shares were exchanged in the name on the back of local buying.
Mauritius: Semdex +0.23%, USD 1.7m
Indices were dragged down by price losses in the likes of MCBG (-0.3%, Rs217.25), SBM (-2.2%, Rs0.89) and NMH (-0.5%, Rs20.60), just to name a few, as the counters traded a total of 76k, 5.9m and 59k shares respectively.
Nigeria: ASI -0.81%, 45.3m USD
The market was extremely quiet on the last trading day of the week of two very large crosses in JBerger ($35.38m) the only shining light as total value traded amounted to $45.3m with some small activity in WAPCO ($1.61m) and GTB ($1.21m) the only other names worth mentioning. Banks closed the day lower with the sector falling -0.69% thanks to Access (-2.86%), UBA (-2.00%) and Zenith (-1.28%). Consumers (+0.37%) managed to close in positive territory with Nestle (+4.85%) and Flour Mills (+3.00%) driving the sector higher.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.13%, USD 483k
The index closed the week off on a strong note due to gains in the likes of Hippo (+8.57, 38c) and Old Mutual (+0.33%, 270c). Other significant contributors included Delta ($74k), Innscor ($170k) and PEARL ($71k) whilst heavyweight Econet failed to register a single trade.
