Botswana: DCI unch, USD 28k

A quiet day in Gaborone, with nothing significant to be reported.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.2%, USD 5.9m

The market closed higher on the day as foreign participation was down from 85% to 71%. Safcom accounted for over 51% of turnover on the day as its price remain unchanged.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.32%, USD 1.15m

Market turnover grew to Rs38.5m all geared towards the usual suspect banks, MCBG (unch, Rs278.00) and SBMH (+1.3%, Rs7.90) accounting to 65%$ of today’s total market turnover. The rest of the market was spread out towards the likes of Grit (-0.7%, Rs1.40), ENL (unch, Rs41.50) and Gama Civic (+3.1%, Rs33.50).

Nigeria: ASI +2.93%, USD 48.26m

It was another strong performance in Nigeria as all indices were up once again, and the Banks (+4.38%) continued their dominance. Zenith bank, which traded at limit up on the day, but saw some offers come out in the final few minutes of trading to close up 3.09%, had the highest turnover of the day, accounting for of 25% of turnover.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.26%, USD 1.04m

Another decent day in Harare as the Industrial Index closed weaker down 0.84 points while the Mining Index followed suit down 7.61 points. Axia (18.00c, $319.07k) lead the way accounting for more than a third of total market turnover with Delta (155.51, $137.61k), Old Mutual (481.76c, $141.04k) and Simbisa (43.42c, $101.38k) all had decent activity.
