Botswana: DCI unch, USD 3k

Another uneventful day in Gaborone today.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.4%, USD 10.2m

The index closed lower with increased turnover on the day, with foreign participation still below the 50% mark. Crosses in KNCB, Safcom and EABL dominated the action on the day, as the afore-mentioned names accounted for 82% of total market turnover.

Mauritius: Market closed until further notice due to cyclone Berguitta

Nigeria: ASI +1.89%, USD 34.8m

Another positive day in Nigeria, as the industrial heavyweight, Dangcem, closed up 5% on the day, while the Consumers Index was the only index in the red. Crosses in Dangcem and Guaranty, dominated the turnover on the day, with both names accounting for 37% of total market turnover.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.58%, USD 2.39m

Trading on the stock exchange improved with investors looking at the large stocks once again as turnover advanced by over $1m from yesterday’s session. Delta ($1.5m) and Seedco ($605k) were the main instigators contributing to the activity on the bourse with both stocks combined accounted for 90% of total market turnover as the rest of the market was quiet.
