The lion's shares of today's activity took place in BCBB which accounted for 89% of turnover as the DCI continues its downward trend.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.09%, USD 10.07m

It was another positive day in Kenya as the marker closed on higher volumes. Blocks in Safcom and Equity Bank dominated the action on the day as both names accounted for a total of 77% of turnover. Foreign participation was 57% on the day.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.01%, USD 740k

Todays volume was geared towards IBL Notes (Rs8.16m) and NMH (Rs3.89m) which amounted to 55% of the turnover. SBM (Rs7.3m) declined by 0.3% trading @ Rs7.80, while NMH (Rs26.60) and CIM (Rs10.75) advanced 0.8% and 1.4% respectively, the rest of the market was quiet.

Nigeria: ASI -1.16%, USD 21.3m

Profit taking continued in Nigeria as the index closed 1.16% lower, with the Financials taking the biggest hit. Only the Consumers and Oil & Gas closed in the positive territory. Guaranty, Zenith and FBNH had the highest turnover, accounting for a total of 54% of turnover

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.11%, USD 2.96m

A slight improvement in Harare on the back of decent buying as turnover increased by 60% from yesterday’s trading. Detla ($1.3m) trading at 70.00c accounting for 46% of the market turnover was the biggest contributor, while the likes of Econet (70.00c, $779k) and Seed Co (200.98c, $507k) were the other major participators taking up a combined 43% of the market.
