A quiet start to the week in Gaborone, with nothing significant to report as Primetime account for the majority of market activity.
The market opened the week in positive territory as foreign participation was at 59%. Safaricom had the highest turnover on the day, accounting for 48% of value traded on the day.
A rather dull and uneventful day in Port Louis. The major action went through in MCBG, closing flat at Rs280.00 and NMH with the hotel chain gaining 8bps to Rs26.40. There was small activity in SBMH (-3bps, Rs7.82).
The market started the week negative as profit taking still lingers, with only the Industrials and Insurance sectors closing higher on the day. Block trades in Transcorp dominated the action on the day, as the name accounted for almost 60% of turnover.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The downward momentum continued in Harare with activity dominated by OML ($705k) and PPC ($270k) the only names worth mentioning.
