Nothing much to report from Gaborone as activity remains muted.
A rather average start to the week in Nairobi as turnover amounted to an uninspiring $6.0m as locals dominated (marginally) proceedings. Foreign interest drove Safcom +1.7% higher as 13.75m shares traded in the telco. Foreign selling pressure caused EQBNK to slide -0.9% as 1.64m shares traded in the name. There were a few crosses in EABL as 170k shares traded while KNCB was very quiet with only 529k shares changing hands.
Turnover was mainly geared towards the banking stocks, MCBG and SBM today. MCBG closed the session flat at Rs197.50 and traded a total of 38.7k shares while SBM shed 1.0% to close at Rs1.00, trading 3.1m shares. The other notable gainer was Mei which registered a cross of 81k shares to close firm at Rs108.75
A much better start to the week in Lagos as turnover amounted to a very pleasing $31.1m thanks mostly to a few crosses in Nestle ($12.69m). There was also some action in the likes of GTB ($3.70m), Access ($3.37m), Zenith ($2.57m) and NB ($2.34m). Banks came under some pressure with the Index falling -1.65% thanks to UBA (-4.97%) and GTB (-3.33%). Consumers (-3.85%) took some strain as NB (-5.00%), Flour Mills (-5.00%) and PZ Cussons (-5.00%) all closed limit down. Cements were also under pressure with WAPCO and DangCem falling -3.40% and -1.68% respectively.

An average start to the week in Harare, as Delta, Econet and Edgars accounted the lions share of turnover. Delta saw persistent demand to close at 116c on a total of 689k shares traded. The other front runners, closed at 55.02c and 10c, trading 296k and 999k shares respectively.
