Botswana: DCI -0.06%, USD 100k

A slight improvement in Gaborone as turnover doubled thanks to BTCL and WILL which were 62% and 31% respectively.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.42%, USD 9.68m

The positive run in Kenya continued with increased local participation, which was at 71.2% on the day. Equity Bank, Safcom and KNCB dominated the action, accounting for a total of 69% of turnover.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.14%, USD 1.14m

A not so bad day in Port Loius as Rs38m exchanged hands while MCBG (unch%, Rs277.50), CIM (unch, Rs10.50) and SBM (-0.3%, Rs7.60) making the numbers accounting for a combined 48% of the turnover. The rest of the market was softer with the likes of PBL unmoved trading at Rs650.00.

Nigeria: ASI -0.54%, USD 19.02m

It was a negative close for the Nigerian stock market as the Banks (-1.45%) had the biggest decline on the day. NB topped the turnover, accounting for 35% of total market turnover, while Guaranty and Zenith accounted of a total of 32%.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.06%, USD 1.19m

The Harare bourse traded slightly lower today as the main movers on the day being Seedco accounting for 33% of total market turnover sitting at $359k, Simbisa trading $229k a modest 20% of total volume and BATZ with $143k while the rest of the market wasn’t quite active.
