It was another positive day in Kenya as foreign participation increased to 49%. Blocks in Safcom and KNCB accounted for almost 60% of total market turnover.
Both the Semdex (+10bps) and the Sem-10 (+14bps) rebounded today. Turnover was decent and lead by GRIT which accounted for 48%. There were also decent trades in MCBG (unch, Rs277.50) and SBMH (+0.8%, Rs766).
The Nigerian stock market seems to be having a “red wedding” as the negative streak continues, led by the banks. Only the consumers closed higher on the day on the back of NB and Nestle. Zenith (-3.85%) was the most active name on the day, accounting for 32% of turnover.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The industrial index fell further today down 7bps. Turnover was led by Barclays (unch, $0.44), Econet (unch, $0.68), Delta (-0.01%, $1.56) and Hippo (+0.01%, $1.68).
