Nothing to report from Botswana.
A massive cross in BATK (local seller/ foreign buyer) of 2.7m shares went through right at the close which boosted activity on an otherwise dull day. There was some foreign activity in Safcom as 13.3m shares changed hands in the telco. KNCB managed to close +2.6% higher but on tiny volume while the rest of the market was dead quiet.
A dull day in Port Louis as expected with nothing getting going. The bulk of the action took place in MCBG (-60bps, Rs210.00).
A dire start to the week from an activity point of view as turnover amounted to $8.8m with some small bits of action in Zenith ($1.39m), UBA ($1.33m) and GTB ($1.25m) the only names worth mentioing. Banks had a very solid day (albeit on tiny volume) with the sector gaining +3.19% with strong performances in UBA (+10.24%), FBNH (+5.99%) and ETI (+4.28%). Consumers (+0.33%) closed slightly higher thanks to Flour Mills (+5.00%) amd Dangote Flour (+1.02%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A very dull start to the week in Harare with just some mild activity in CBZ (9c) taking place.
