Nothing much to report from Nairobi as turnover amounted to a dull $3.8m as locals remain absent from the market. There was some activity in Safcom as the telco gained +0.3% on 15m shares (foreigners dominated both sides). EQBNK (-1.1%) and KNCB (+0.5%) ended the day mixed while EABL fell -1% on foreign selling.
A solid enough start to the week from an activity point of view in Port Louis as turnover amounted to $1.25m thanks to some action in NMH as 1m shares changed hands. There was also some activity in MCBG (45k shares) and Ciel (1.2m shares).
Another rather slow start to the week after the long weekend in Lagos with turnover amounting to $15.8m thanks to some crosses in the likes of GTB ($8.2m), Zenith ($2.3m), UBA ($1.2m) and WAPCO ($1.2m). Consumers had a solid day with the sector gaining +2.88% thanks to NB (+4.26%) and Nestle (+2.39%). Banks (-0.16%) however closed lower as Zenith (-3.26%) and Access (-2.33%) were drags on the sector.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A dire day in Harare with turnover amounting to a paltry $74k.
