Another relatively decent day in Gaborone as turnover amounted to $394k thanks once again to Letshego as 846k shares traded.
An absolutely woeful day in Nairobi as interest in the bourse remains non-existent. Outside of some activity in Safcom (+70bps, KES15.10) there was absolutely nothing happening.
A much better day in Port Louis as turnover increased to $1.78m thanks mostly to some solid activity in MCBG as 239k shares changed hands in the name.
There was a large cross in Zenith Bank (+6bps, N18.11). Outside of this the market was extremely quiet. Banks shed 66bps for the day and outside of Zenith there was nothing happening in the sector. Consumers gained 100bps although this sector was also dead outside of NB (+4bps, N140.07). There was some action in Wapco (+55bps, N98.00). Please remember that the NSE is closed on Thursday and Friday.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
An absolutely woeful day in Harare – nothing important to note.
