Another extremely quiet day in Gaborone.
Another day of decent action in Nairobi with some decent crosses going through in the top 4 names. The main action went through in EABL with the brewer closing up 30bps at KES300.00. the banks had another mixed day as Equity Bank rose by 60bps to KES40.00 while KNCB fell to KES37.00 (-1.3%). Safcom saw some strong foreign buying which pushed the telco up by 2% to KES17.50.
A much better day in Port Louis thanks to crosses in NIT (440k shares) and CIEL (1m shares) while the rest of the market was rather quiet.
Another quiet day with no real conviction on display. The banks slipped by a further 1.34% although volumes were pretty dull across the board. The only modicum of activity went through in UBA which fell by 9.57% to N4.25. Consumers closed marginally in the red (-14bps) with NB (-44bps, N136.53) seeing some chunky trades for the second straight day (accounted for 46% of the total turnover).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Apart from a tiny bit of activity in Simbisa and Delta, there was nothing to report from Harare once again.
