Nothing to report from Gaborone.
It was an extremely dull start to the week in Nairobi with a few crosses in EQBNK saving the day from being completely embarrassing as 3.2m shares traded in the name. There was also a small bit of activity in Safcom and KNCB as 4.8m shares and 2.2m shares traded in the names respectively. KNCB touched a new 52 week low of KES 31.50 during the session.
A rather disastrous start to the week from an activity point of view with nothing to report.
Not the worst start to the week from an activity point of view with a late cross in NB ($4.7m) helping boost activity while there was also some action in GTB ($4.6m) and Zenith ($1m). Banking stocks came under some serious pressure with the sector falling -4.08% with weakness in Zenith (-6.12%), GTB (-4.76%) and FBNH (-2.17%). Consumers (-0.58%) also closed the day lower with NB (-0.69%) dragging the sector lower. Market heavyweight DangCem came under some pressure and closed the day -4.04% lower.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A dull start to the week with Seedco (57c) almost the only stock to move the needle.
