A small bit of activity in NAP the only name worth mentioning as 1.4m shares traded while the rest of the market was very quiet.
Another day heavily dominated by foreign crosses. Today was the turn of Equity Bank which saw some chunky crosses at the KES40.00 level (unchanged). The other 3 large caps also saw some decent trading, most notably in KNCB (-70bps, KES35.00) while EABL (unch, KES300.00) and Safcom (-1.6%, KES18.40) were also active. The rest of the market was practically non-existent.
Not much to report from Port Louis apart from some small activity in MCBG as 50k shares traded in the name.
The buyers returned to Lagos today in some decent sizes with volumes and direction dominated by the banks (+3.52%). Names such as GTB (+3.13%, N22.05), Zenith (+4.57%, N16.69) and UBA (+4.84%, N4.98) had extremely active days with GTB spending much of the day bid at limit up. Consumers (+1.58%) tried to follow suit with NB (+76bps, N142.49) and Nestle (+2.66%, N816) seeing a fair amount of trading. Outside of these 5 names the market was fairly quiet while we saw the NGN trading relatively stable around the N280.50 level for most of the day.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A much better day in Harare thanks to some action in NatFoods ($405k), Bindura ($305k), Innscor ($243k) and Old Mutual ($229k).
